About TableTransfers
Our Story
TableTransfers was founded by hospitality operators who got tired of waiting for the trade press to catch up to what was actually happening in their kitchens. The first version of the publication was a private email to thirty operators in early 2026. The marketplace followed three months later, when those same operators kept asking us to introduce them to each other for sales conversations.
Our Mission
Help operators run, scale, or exit hospitality businesses in the AI era. Every piece we publish has to be useful to someone running service tonight. Every listing has to be worth a serious buyer's time. Everything else is decoration.
Our Vision
The hospitality industry is twenty-four months behind software in its AI adoption. We want to compress that gap — by reporting what's actually working in working kitchens, by reviewing the vendors honestly, and by building the marketplace where the next generation of restaurant operators will buy and sell.
Get in touch
Tips, corrections, marketplace inquiries, or just a hello — we read everything.
TableTransfers is a media-and-marketplace platform for the hospitality industry. We publish six editorial columns — The Pass (daily news), Vibe Check (vendor reviews), The Operator (long-form playbooks), The Bottom Line (M&A and deals), Mise (frameworks essays from our editor-in-chief), and the Service podcast — and we operate a curated restaurant-for-sale marketplace alongside them.
We started because the existing hospitality trade press was covering AI like it was a guest column rather than the operational reality it has become. Every multi-unit operator we talked to was running an AI experiment. Most weren't talking about it publicly because the press wasn't asking the right questions. We decided to ask them.
The marketplace came next. We kept introducing operators we interviewed to other operators who were quietly shopping for acquisition targets. We realized that was the highest-value thing we were doing, and we built a product around it. The marketplace is now the engine that funds the editorial.
The editorial firewall is the line we will never cross. Vendors do not get to review, pre-approve, or kill coverage of their products. Sponsored content is clearly labeled and produced by a separate team. Marketplace listings are covered with the same scrutiny we apply to any other deal in The Bottom Line. If you ever see us appear to break this, please tell us.
We are a small team and we move quickly. The publication ships daily; the marketplace surfaces three to five new listings a week. We host quarterly invite-only operator dinners in NYC, LA, Miami, and London, and we are producing our first annual conference, TableTransfers Live, in 2027.
If you run, fund, or sell to hospitality operators — or if you are one — this is the publication written for you.
